MIKRO-RACKS | Kick & Sub-Bass Randomiser for Ableton 12
Here are two ableton racks that I have made, one that generates Kick drums and the other that generates sub-bass.
The MIKRO-KICK 001 is made using the Ds-Kick, some saturation and the drum buss, I have then mapped some parameters to the group macros and adjusted the parameter values to my taste. This mean that you can hit the randomise button and those macros will all randomise creating a new kick each time.
The MIKRO-SUB 001 is made using Meld and some saturation. And same as with the kick, I grouped parameters to the group macros and then and then set the values on each parameter so that each randomisation will keep generating various Sub-basses. For optimal sub basslines I recommend keeping MIDI notes between C2-C4.
To the left of the rack you will see that I have already saved a bunch of presets, click the play button to select a preset and if you want to make changes to a preset then click the camera icon, alternatively you can create changes or hit random then click "New" this will save your preset, remember though is you save your own presets then save the device again, once you reopen the device on a new MIDI channel or in a new project the original default of the device is what will open.
I thought since there are already so many sample packs out there these days, this would be more fun for producers, you can still drag and drop and get Some Mikrotakt in your projects but hit random and you'll have something completely unique and ready to go.
